We are HALFWAY


bicep backWe’re halfway!!  No, not until the baby gets here (have you seen me?  That baby better be more than halfway to his due date!!).  Little man and I are HALFWAY THROUGH HAMMER & CHISEL.  Who would have thought that at 7 months pregnant I would be doing a bada** weight lifting type program?

I never guessed I would still be working out at all!!  I mean, let’s get real, I’m 0-2!  I think I made it about 4 months with the girls and then it quickly tapered off until I was basically only getting exercise during my sprints to the bathroom 3rd trimester.

This time was different from the start.  I made a promise to myself, my husband, this baby and my challenge groups – I would not give up!  I know exercise is amazing for pregnancy but listening to your body is important too.  I am thankful I have amazing support so I have been able to accomplish both!

There have been days where I barely used weights during my workout and there have been days where I pushed hard.  I have had more rest days in the last 7 months than I did in the 7 months prior BUT… And this is a big BUT, even when it got hard, I never gave up.  I’d love to say it was all because of my dedication but I’m getting real here, right?  It wasn’t!  If I didn’t have support and a group to motivate me, I would be 0-3 right now!  Forget the third trimester- continuing to work out through the extreme exhaustion of those first few months, I would have easily given in to couch sitting!

I am thankful for all of the support I have.  They motivate me, keep me in-line and remind me that it’s ok to have an off day.  This is a lifestyle, this is for the long haul.  I need to find a way to make it work EVERYDAY so that habit takes over because, I plan on keeping this promise of health to my husband and family forever.  Seriously, I don’t want to miss an event, big moment or chance to annoy my kids 😉 so I keep up my health to stick around for a longtime!!
